Frequently asked questions
How much flooring do I need?
Calculate your room's area (length × width), then add a waste buffer — 10% for hardwood and laminate, 5% for vinyl plank and carpet. A 20 m² room with laminate needs about 22 m² of material after waste.
How much extra flooring should I buy for waste?
5-10% covers a standard straight layout. Increase to 15-20% for diagonal installations, herringbone patterns, small rooms with lots of cuts, or if you're new to installing flooring and expect some mistakes.
How many boxes of flooring do I need?
Check the coverage per box on the product packaging (usually printed in square feet or square meters), enter it in the calculator above, and it'll tell you exactly how many boxes to buy after accounting for waste.
